___Historical Fact___
|
The first signs of anything skiboard-like was the Atomic Glider. At 63.5cm this ski was designed in 1982 to fit into a hiker's backpack. Short lived under that name, it was later known as the Figl. These skis were bindingless because they were designed to be strapped to a hiking boot. They were mainly sold in Colorado.
Around 1990, Kneissel started mass producing the Big Foot. These 65cm skis were slightly longer than the Figl but quite different because of an injection foam construction, a sidecut, and its binding system. When asked about what the "first" skiboards are, most will claim the Big Foot.
